The X1 is undeniably one of the more unique looking consumer espresso machines on the market today. Available in a wide range of colours, the machine has undergone some major improvements inside in recent years.

Josh Alwitt (quality: 8.0) 02.06.2012 Rating: 4.8
Bottom Line: Great coffee and easy to use, but unreliable machine makes it not worth the trouble
J J (quality: 7.0) 11.16.2009 Rating: 4.4
Bottom Line: Looks nice outside, cheap parts inside, machine-specific parts are not available.  All beauty, with no brawn.
Jay Johnson (quality: 7.5) 07.27.2008 Rating: 4.6
Bottom Line: If you need parts, get ready to ship your machine.  Using the steamer: for 12oz of milk to go from 40* to 160* takes over 3 min.  FF customer service is juvenile at best.
A Hart 01.29.2008 Rating: 7.6
Bottom Line: The third-gen FF! X1 Professional is a feisty little machine both for its looks and operation. It's for ground coffee only, and it's a big step up from the both-pods-and-ground-coffee second-gen FF! machines.
Steve Caswell (quality: 7.0) 12.14.2007 Rating: 7.6
Bottom Line: Great machine if you're into convenience and like the idea of switching between pods and traditional in an instance.
Robert Bloom (quality: 4.3) 12.14.2007 Rating: 1.0
Bottom Line: 25 coffee in a 400 machine.  Or, for U.S. readers, $50 coffee in an $800 machine.
X1 Owner (quality: 4.5) 11.28.2007 Rating: 8.6
Bottom Line: Great with an entry-level burr grinder.
John Hudak (quality: 4.0) 05.29.2007 Rating: 9.0
Bottom Line: Beautifully designed espresso maker that should last years with proper care.  Plus you can use pods for quick shots!
Daniel Cohen (quality: 6.0) 05.22.2007 Rating: 8.2
Bottom Line: dont let look be your guide :-)
Heather Snow (quality: 6.0) 12.16.2006 Rating: 6.4
Bottom Line: Good machine until it stopped working. For about a year and a half I was happy with it. Two years later it's broken and I wish I'd bought quality over design.
Peter Harraway 08.09.2006 Rating: 7.2
Bottom Line: Twin the Francis with a Rancilio Rocky and you won't be disappointed - escape pod constraints!
Patrick Moss (quality: 8.0) 02.10.2006 Rating: 8.4
Bottom Line: Love it!  Get one and you'll love it too.
Scott Smith (quality: 8.8) 02.08.2006 Rating: 8.8
Bottom Line: Great machine for the espresso fan
Steve Strawman (quality: 8.0) 02.04.2006 Rating: 5.4
Bottom Line: Probably more style than substance, but capable of making decent (not great) espresso; a high-maintenance trophy-wife.
Cith Saum (quality: 4.0) 01.19.2006 Rating: 4.6
Bottom Line: Won't buy it again. Don't like the quality or the fact that FF tech support won't sell you parts (You have to send the whole machine to IL for repair)
Dennis Vogel (quality: 4.0) 10.15.2005 Rating: 8.6
Bottom Line: Great looking. Good shots. Nice foam. Makes me smile.
Al E (quality: 5.4) 06.08.2005 Rating: 9.0
Bottom Line: Francis Francis brew me away with the X2 (get it?  "Brew me away"??  Sorry.)
Xerxes Lee (quality: 4.7) 03.18.2005 Rating: 7.6
Bottom Line: don't forget to empty driptray after EVERY shot.
Name Blank (quality: 7.0) 03.10.2004 Rating: 8.8
Bottom Line: An eye-catching, effective espresso machine for people who want a quick, tasty shot of love.
Drew Giacobe (quality: 7.0) 02.18.2004 Rating: 6.0
Bottom Line: Pretty, but in the end, it's a piece of junk.
