The X1 is undeniably one of the more unique looking consumer espresso machines on the market today. Available in a wide range of colours, the machine has undergone some major improvements inside in recent years.
Robert Bloom (quality: 4.3)

Rating: 1.0
Bottom Line: £25 coffee in a £400 machine. Or, for U.S. readers, $50 coffee in an $800 machine.

Rating: 3.2
Bottom Line: Don't even think about it! Imagine, one can get a Sylvia for less!

Bottom Line: Steer well clear of this baby its a nightmare!

Rating: 4.4
Bottom Line: Looks nice outside, cheap parts inside, machine-specific parts are not available. All beauty, with no brawn.

Rating: 4.6
Bottom Line: Won't buy it again. Don't like the quality or the fact that FF tech support won't sell you parts (You have to send the whole machine to IL for repair)
Jay Johnson (quality: 7.5)

Rating: 4.6
Bottom Line: If you need parts, get ready to ship your machine. Using the steamer: for 12oz of milk to go from 40* to 160* takes over 3 min. FF customer service is juvenile at best.

Rating: 4.8
Bottom Line: Great coffee and easy to use, but unreliable machine makes it not worth the trouble
Paul Cleary (quality: 3.0)

Rating: 5.2
Bottom Line: A good looker but a poor performer.

Rating: 5.2
Bottom Line: Don‘t waste your time unless you like looks more than function...
Steve Strawman (quality: 8.0)
02.04.2006
Rating: 5.4
Bottom Line: Probably more style than substance, but capable of making decent (not great) espresso; a high-maintenance trophy-wife.
Eric Kraal (quality: 5.8)

Rating: 5.8
Bottom Line: If you like good espresso... DON'T bye the francis francis.

Rating: 6.0
Bottom Line: Pretty, but in the end, it's a piece of junk.

Rating: 6.4
Bottom Line: It‘s sad but true, francis francis is all about looks
Heather Snow (quality: 6.0)

Rating: 6.4
Bottom Line: Good machine until it stopped working. For about a year and a half I was happy with it. Two years later it's broken and I wish I'd bought quality over design.

Bottom Line: All in all i am glad that i choose an X1 when i made my choice 3 years back. It has been a beautiful and taste full experience!

Rating: 7.0
Bottom Line: Nice design good quality on the outside, but the inside mechanical components do not match same quality

Rating: 7.2
Bottom Line: Twin the Francis with a Rancilio Rocky and you won't be disappointed - escape pod constraints!

Rating: 7.4
Bottom Line: I can highly recommend buying the Francis Francis X1
Steve Caswell (quality: 7.0)

Rating: 7.6
Bottom Line: Great machine if you're into convenience and like the idea of switching between pods and traditional in an instance.

Rating: 7.6
Bottom Line: The third-gen FF! X1 Professional is a feisty little machine both for its looks and operation. It's for ground coffee only, and it's a big step up from the both-pods-and-ground-coffee second-gen FF! machines.
