Excellent and Easy espresso - no longer vail, see below
Positive Product Points
Ease of use, quality of espresso and steam *** see below
Negative Product Points
cleaning interior when using oily beans like Illy
Detailed Commentary
Makes excellent espresso, better than all but the most dedicated Baristas with specialist eqipment (an unfortunately rare bird). Ease of use is excellent. There is one awkward cleaning procedure that only those who use oily beans and fine grinds will encounter. THe C1000 is actually better than the C3000 in my opinion, though the 3000 is easier to use. Basically, blows any competitor I‘ve tried out of the water *** see below
Upon further use, while the C1000 may still be the best of the super automatics, it isn't worth buying. My original machine worked quite well, but in an effort to solve one problem (the machine jamming) the folks at capresso created another (the machine will no longer brew strong espresso)
Buying Experience
Williams Sonoma did an excellent job of standing behind the product
Three Month Followup
an update - I've gotten rid of my c1000, due to some issues, and have adjusted my scores above to address them.
The basic problem I had was with oily beans and the grinder. It kept on sticking. WIlliams Sonoma was very good about taking it back and replacing it. Unfortunately, all of the subsequent ones I got (I went throught 10) couldn't make decent espresso any more - it was weak and insipid, a flaw my original did not suffer from. As a result I eventually got rid of the machine and would not currently recommend it
