Compact machine for this class - easy on counter space.
Brushed finish on the sides and back makes it easy to keep clean.
Reliability! Top notch quality.
Manufacturer support. I have called and spoken personally with the importer to order parts, can't remember his name. Very friendly and helpful!
Not real fancy but what do you want, fancy or good coffee!
Negative Product Points
No glaring faults. It is a vibe pump, somewhat noisy. It is a pour over so frequent refills are necessary, smallish water resevoir. The chrome on the group head is pitting slightly, but it is not real obvious. Machine still looks great after 6 years.
This is a brief long term review. I have owned this unit for 6 years and I would buy another one tomorrow, but I don't think it will be necessary! This machine is very solid and well made. Only minor routine maintenance has been required, several portafilter gaskets, dispersion screen was recently replaced. I have replaced both the on-off switch and the brew switch. Total parts cost to date, about 25 bucks.
This machine gets fairly heavy use for home. There are four coffee drinkers in this house. It gets turned on at about 5:am every morning and off about 10:pm every night. About 40 to 50 double shots per week. Lattes, cappas, espresso, a lot of iced lattes this past summer. This machine steams well for the class.
This machine makes consistently good coffee. I just replaced the portafilter gasket and dispersion screen and gave the grouphead a good cleaning. Works like new. The shots are great! As a matter of fact that is what prompted this review. This machine has been a great value. I thought it might be a good idea to let other shoppers for a machine of this type know about my positive experience.
It has been a while, but it was fine as best as I remember. I originally purchased an Expobar Office. Had problems with it shortly after purchase and upgraded to the La Valentina.
