The Duetto II weighs about 65lbs, and will make every other piece of visible kitchen hardware appear ugly.
Detailed Commentary
Even an idiot could make perfect lattes and espresso with this machine! After years of tedious frustration with my Rancilio Sylvia temperature surfing, using this Duetto II is too easy. The espresso PID was setup perfect from the factory and there is no need to flush the system before shots. I get a perfect shot EVERY time. I really don’t know what else could be said in this realm. I was seeking the best consumer machine possible that didn’t need 220v and need a plumbing line (this is optional), and I am quite certain the Duetto II is the best consumer machine available.
I considered purchasing a similar machine from wholelottalove, but decided against this because their review forum is screened to convey only kind/favorable results. Hence, their reviews are positively eschewed. I attempted to write a less than completely favorable review for the Rancilio Syliva on the wholelottalove review forum – twice. But, the review never posted. It was screened out. I probably shouldn’t rant about this herein as this is supposed to be a review for the Duetto II. I should return to the correct topic.
After about 6 months with my the Duetto II, I continue to use it a couple times daily and absolutely love it. Using this machine is absolutely wonderful. I used to think there was something magical about getting a good shot of espresso. There is nothing magical. It simply takes the perfect temperature, pressure and… oh, I almost forgot a snippet. I think there is something special about the way the Duetto II E61 group head pushes the water into the espresso. I have read a few things about the E61 group head and I really think this matters.
I know the true coffee geeks will find something lacking my review. I certainly have not compared the Duetto II to a gazillion other coffee machines using sublime prose. This is because I am an ordinary guy who doesn't work in a coffee shop. I can convey that I still occasionally visit a good coffee shop when I am away from home. Yep, those big $$ LaCimbali machines make good coffee too, but the results aren't any better than my Duetto II.
