Detailed Commentary
At almost $2400, this was a difficult purchase to make, but I do not regret it at all. I also have a La Pavoni Lever machine that I love, but it is so time consuming and messy to make a cappuccino that I hardly ever use it any more. The Capresso C3000 is ready to go in a minute or two. I just pull the milk container out of the fridge and 20 seconds later I have a nice thick froth. Espresso has a nice crema and wonderful flavor - not bitter. I like the fact that I can program the amount of coffee and water to use for different buttons on the machine. There is no guessing once you set it up the way you like it. No knobs to accidentally move to change your settings. I also like that you can adjust the temperature of the espresso. Other automatics I have tried did not allow this and I found the espresso too cool.
I know this is a crazy price to pay for a home espresso machine, but it is so easy to use and fits a tall travel mug (rare for other machines). I actually can use it for my morning coffee on the way to work without wasting a lot of time. I figure the money I save not buying coffee house coffee each morning helps make up for the cost of the machine. I bought mine at ThemeGifts.com (http://www.themegifts.com) where they throw in a bunch of free items that also helps rationalize the cost. Sit back and enjoy.
