Pump failed after 14 months, Breville would not help me after 12 month garantee period - there are better machines for the money.
Positive Product Points
The unit seems very well built. It made a good espresso but not superlative for the money.
Negative Product Points
The pump failed after 14 months....
While I enjoyed the dual boiler when it worked, the machine failed after 14 months. Breville was very cool about the problem and refused to fix it after the 12 month guarantee period. All this happened last year, so I am a bit late in reporting ... In any case when I did mention that their attitude and service would d be commented on major coffee sites, they relented and agreed to fix it... By that time I had given away the dual boiler to the dumpster. By wife still adores the smaller Breville 800ESXL in the kitchen and I bought one as a gift and another for my son. However, I will never again buy such an expensive machine when you cannot readily get parts. I have an Elektra machine in the basement and parts are readily available...The same for my Gaggia at work.
I bought the machine from I drink Coffee in Canada - the machine is now $1,000. Canadian. The seller provided impeccable service but not the Breville people...
