Positive Product Points
Catalytic converter virtually eliminates the smoke. Can see the beans and hear the cracks.
Negative Product Points
Not built for regular use. It WILL break and repairing it is not a viable option.
Detailed Commentary
I couldn't agree more with the reviewer of 3 (now) broken Z & D roasters. I too have had the unfortunate experience of being a repeat buyer. I loved the catalytic converter SO much that I looked past the fragile nature of the oscillator/motor that will surely burn out. I am now in search of the holey grail of smokeless roasters. Wish me luck! I am now considering the Gene Roaster with the chaff adaptor that allows you to attach a venting hose. Roasting outdoors or in the garage is too drastic a temperature change for accurate roasting in New England.
