Not heavy enough
Have to crank down pretty hard to get a good tamp
Fit and finish leaves a little to be desired

Detailed Commentary

I needed a tamper for my espresso machine and I found this one for the price I wanted to pay.  It does the job, but you have to crank down on the portafilter to get a good tamp, because the tamper is a little on the light side.  I wish that they made this just a little heavier.  The fit and finish, while okay, could be a little better, but hey, what can you expect for $6.99?  There is a seam where the two halves of the tamper were put together, and that just does not look nice when you are trying to impress your guests with your barista skills. The sizes of the tamper pistons are just not right for my little espresso machine's portafilter.  The one that I use is just a little too small for a good tamp, and the other size on the flip side is just a little too big.  It is a good start, however, I will upgrade at some point.   Would I buy this again?  Yes, if I had to...

Buying Experience

The place where I buy most of my coffee stuff from is getting better than it used to be.  I bought this with a shot glass to get the espresso out of the machine.  They were helpful.
