I got this from Espresso Supply in Seattle for about $21. The improvement over the plastic tamper that came with my Gaggia was dramatic. It made getting a uniform tamp easier and neater, allowing me to apply heavy pressure without slipping. It fits perfectly in my filter basket. Its thick bottom also provides a gauge for whether it is level. I just lift the portafilter up to eye level with the tamper in place. If it is not higher on one side than the other, I know I've got it right.
