Detailed Commentary

After hearing so much controversy regarding flat versus convex I buckled under and ordered a Solid Metal Handle Deluxe Lava Stainless Steel Espresso Hand Tamp from espressoparts.com. It got put to the test as soon as I got it out of its carefully packaged box. I have to admit, convex does make a difference with my Gaggia Classic. Perfect 20 second pulls everytime. Makes sense since the Classic has a curved shower screen so that a convex tamper works better. The tamper is a solid piece of aluminum Lava handle with a stainless convex base with a total weight of 1LB. Mine came with a clear acrylic cap perfect for that portafilter tap.

Buying Experience

Great buying experience through espressoparts.com. Easy online purchase and also had the option of wrtiting in the make and model of  machine to assure proper fit. Shipping email was prompt and product arrived on time and well packaged. Will definitely do business with them again.
