The HotTop Roaster is the second consumer-prosumer roaster released in the modern era (1980s onward) to feature a drum roasting system. It is currently subject to limited availability.

Rating: 4.0
Bottom Line: Several minor irritations, but still the best roasting experience I've had to date.
Alfred Hampton (quality: 4.0)

Rating: 7.0
Bottom Line: I wouldn't buy this machine again just for the reason of the long cool down time before you can roast again.

Fred Langer (quality: 8.0)

Rating: 7.0
Bottom Line: If you want 1/2 pound batches of repeatable roasts, don't mind the higher price (factor in the possible need for a variac if your voltage is wimpy) - this beats the Alpenrost hands down.
