Bottom Line: For a consistent tamp you can't go wrong, and a great beginner's tool to help remove a variable out of the process.
Positive Product Points

Simple to use.
Nice and heavy.
Very consistent.

Negative Product Points

Kinda pricey.

Detailed Commentary

This is my first tamper.  I wanted something a little more than a bathroom scale to tell me how hard I was pushing down, and since I am just getting started I thought this would be a variable I could subdue at the moment while working on other things (such as grind and dose).  I have not been dissapointed so far.  It's a great heavy tamper, and provides a consistent tamp every time.  It fit's in my 58mm basket great.  I purchased a bottomless portafilter to go along with it and by my 6th shot (in my entire life!) I was getting fairly thick, centered pulls with little to no channeling.

I do expect to eventually wean myself off it, but for the next few months I will enjoy it.
