Detailed Commentary

While perusing the www.rancilio.it I saw a small picture of a Rancilio labeled espresso cup. I thought to myself that those were quite nice but ….I was surprised that I have never seen them for sale or reviewed anywhere before. After some digging on the Internet, I turned to alt.coffee and posted a message asking for any info on the Rancilio Cups.

Sure enough there were many helpful responses which included Evan Smith from WLL who mentioned that he may be able to obtain some from Rancilio North America which he swiftly did. In a couple of weeks, I received the four pack Miss Rancilio Demitasse set. Thanks WLL!!

The cup and saucer design is quite nice. The saucer has the Rancilio logo and “Miss Rancilio” imprinted. The cups are of impressive weight and styling as well. The top ridge of the cup are ever so slight curved and rests perfectly on your lips. The handle is also quite comfortable.

The heat retention of these cups are incredible.  These cups also fit perfectly under Silvia’s portafilter.

The well-known LPD Company manufactures the cups. The only aspect, which I would suggest for change, is the coloring of the light green Rancilio label to a darker green.

But hurry as this design is discountinued and WLL has limited supplies. However, newly designed cups are on the way.

Here are links to the rancilio site that show the cups:

Buying Experience

I have a great appreciation to WLL for their help in obtaining these cups. WLL always aims to please their consumers, even when not directly asked. Thanks WLL!!!!
