I would say that the Macap is not the best choice and the AUTOTAMPER is the ONLY clear choice!

Fit and painted finish are not very nice. And we had after only 6 months the clicking bearings stopped working.
Detailed Commentary
I have owned the Macap tamper for the last year. The Autotamp I would say blows it out of the water!!! The Fit and finish of the AUTOTAMP is so much more refined and looks more attractive on my counter. The Autotamp is a much more precise unit when it comes to the final espresso tamp. The Other thing I like is its solid stainless and chrome body instead of paint and aluminum. Its also much easier to clean as well. Since I purchased the AUTOTAMP from www.espressonline.com I have since sold my Macap and dont plan on looking back. I believe the Autotamp is the best unit out now and its a must have every coffee shop and high end home user to deliver the consistancy we all need. Thank you AUTOTAMP!
