Manual pourover brewing has grown in appeal with the increase in popularity of products like the Hario V60, Abid Clever, and Beehouse drippers. With this influx of interest in manual brewing, there has arisen a need to provide a suitable platform which meets the barista's demands for precision and efficiency in by-the-cup pourover brewing. Keeping these various brewing complexities in mind, we would like to present 3 new wood pourover stations which will help to make manual brewing more efficient, accurate, and aesthetically pleasing:

The Contra Stand

The Contra offers several unique features to assist in making the by-the-cup pourover brewing process a more accurate and efficient endeavour:

1) The Contra Stand was designed with both the barista and customer in mind.  The word "contra" means "opposite" or "opposing".  Opposing
corner supports allow both the barista and the customer easy access from either side of the stand.  This provides an easier and quicker exchange between your customers and baristas, while at the same time adding to your customers' experience as they participate in the brew process.  Also... it looks pretty darn cool.

2) The Contra was made with brewing accuracy and convenience in mind.  Options for the stand, provided at a discounted price, include a custom fit drip tray and scale. The Contra fits securely on the Escali Tabla, a scale which we specifically selected for the Contra.  The Contra is distinct from other stands which place the scale under the drip tray or serving carafe, thereby only weighing the final volume yielded. Since the Contra rests entirely upon the scale, the barista can measure the entire water volume used in the brewing process.  This provides precise measurement of water volume which aids in the ability to reproduce the perfect cup with minimum waste, brew after brew.

3) The Contra is made by local Louisville wood-worker, Drew Hickok, from 100% reclaimed oak.  Drew uses this wood for each of his stands, keeping it out of the local landfills and putting it back into use.  Also, since the Contra is hand-crafted locally, many customizations are available.  Options include, but are not limited to: stain, dimensions, or multiple brewing stations.  Give us a call or send us an email and we'll work up a quote for you based upon your ideas.

The Contra 1 Hole Wood Pourover Station is currently being offered for $162 (Drip Tray & Scale extra).

b]The Tacky Stand
Designed by local coffee enthusiast and barista, Jesse Harriot, the Tacky stand is anything but its name.  Designed specifically for small shop brewing (but easily incorporated into larger shops or home use) the Tacky carries a uniquely elegant design.  Built with optional drip tray in mind at two alternating heights, it boasts a refined but practical design.  The Tacky is available with 1, 2, or 3 holes and offers the buyer 1 of 5 choices of wood for the stand at no extra charge (Cherry, Curly Maple, Oak, Soft Maple, Walnut).

The Tacky 2 Hole Wood Pourover Station is currently being offered for $195 (Drip Tray & Scale extra).  For more information, or to purchase your Tacky, visit our listing: The Tacky Stand, Manual Coffee Brewing Station.  If you have questions or want to purchase over the phone, give us a call at (888) 837-7892.

The Inlay Stand
An alternate Jesse Harriot design to the Tacky Station, the Inlay stand brings an artistic touch to manual brewing surpassed only by the art of the V60 process itself.  With a darker stained wood seamlessly inserted in between the smooth exterior light wood edges, the Inlay boasts a unique look that will add beauty to any home or shop location.  Like the Tacky, the Inlay Stand is available with 1, 2, or 3 holes and offers the buyer 1 of 5 choices of wood for the stand at no extra charge (Cherry, Curly Maple, Oak, Soft Maple, Walnut).
