Oh, you know. We were waiting for this one!
One of CoffeeGeek's long standing and constant complaints is the sad state of affairs in the auto drip coffee brewing market. So many things are good - you have this 5 to 8 minute steep time for about 75grams of ground coffee. That's good. You have so many coffee makers that look sleek. That's good. Many of them are now coming with thermal carafes. That's awesome.
But many of the machines on the market today simply cannot brew hot enough to ensure proper extraction. Do you hear me, Braun, Krups?
One company claimed recently they do touch the magic 200F or higher in the brewing group. So I said, prove it. And they took up the challenge. I was sent two coffee brewers by Capresso - the Capresso CoffeeTEC, and the subject of this First Look - the Capresso MT500.
CoffeeGeek would like to thank Dan Hughes for supplying us with this machine. The Capresso MT500 sells for $169, and is available in many retail outlets in the United States, as well as through Amazon.
On the next page, you'll find out my initial impressions of this machine. Please keep in mind, this is a First Look, not a Detailed Review. That's coming down the road. Read More...
