Capresso is a company that coffee lovers (I said coffee, damnit, not espresso) should really admire. Besides Technivorm, there’s no other company that consistently puts out consumer coffee makers that take a serious shot at coming close to, or meeting the SCAA’s brewing standards for these types of machines.
And now they have a new machine on the market that could possibly put to rest of my own frequently used slogans: don’t buy coffee makers with timers. How did they do this? It’s the introduction of an updated grind and brew model from Capresso: the CoffeeTEAM Therm.
This machine has the potential to have it all - from a well designed thermal carafe, to a built in conical burr grinder (there’s only two conical burr coffee machine / grinder combinations on the market today, and Capresso makes both), to a very unique and stylistic design, it’s possible this could be the ultimate espresso machine.
In this First Look, I’ll be giving you a strict overview of the machine and its functionality. I will not be making any comments, criticisms or kudos about the performance and operation of the machine, but will give some op/ed on the overall package and design. This product will also get a QuickShot review in the not too distant future.
In the meantime, please enjoy this First Look, which is designed to get you more acquainted with this machine from Capresso. We also want to thank 1st in Coffee for supplying us with this test model. They sell the Capresso CoffeeTEAM Therm for $299, including free shipping and no sales tax outside of NJ. If you’re interested in buying this brewer, tell Jim you read about this product on CoffeeGeek to get a free pound of coffee.
As a side note, I decided to try and do something a bit different with the photos for this 1st look - instead of the usual neutral backgrounds of white or black, I shot it with, well, backgrounds - let me know what you think in the comments.
