I have a road trip coming up and would love to break it up with stops at great coffee shops along the way. Any suggestions? I don't want to stray too far from I-5.

Wandering Goat in Eugene. There's a place in Ashland that serves Stumptown; sorry, forget the name at the moment. Plenty of stuff in Sacramento (Temple, Chocolate Fish, Insight, etc).

Couple of good options in Ashland. Espressophile is most like referring to The Mix Shop. Mix is a dessert shop in the plaza that serves Stumptown, but the real jewel in town is Noble Coffee Roasters on 4th St in the railroad district. Great coffee selection, espresso made well, and excellent vacuum pot service as well.
I worked in Eugene for a couple of weeks and tried Wandering Goat and it was pretty good, but I've never made the effort to find it off I-5 when I'm driving thru.
If you can go 3-5 hours between espresso fixes, get started in SF, hit Noble in Ashland, something in PDX and then Seattle.
There's also a great sleeper shop in Ridgefield, Washington (exit 14 I think) called Lava Java, that's owned by a former US Barista Champion. It's only a half hour north of Portland, but it's worth a stop.
