Posted Mon Aug 27, 2012, 1:58pm Subject: Museum Coffee
Not to be outdone by SFMOMA's Blue Bottle Caffe, the L.A. County Museum of Art (LACMA) has banished its old coffee cart and obliterated its old restaurant, and installed in the restaurant's place a beautiful, modern new space where Intelligentsia-trained baristas serve quite good shots of the museum's own fruity Intelli blend on a Strada. They call the bar, very descriptively, "Coffee and Milk."
Museum admission is not required to enjoy the coffee bar.
The "milk" actually refers to a milk sorbet that they use for various treats such as ice cream sandwiches and shakes. Those looked good, as of course did the coffee drinks; sadly, when I was there it was too close to dinner for ice cream and thus too late in the afternoon for caffeine. Next time.
