My wife and I stopped at The French Press on the way up to and then down from Pismo Beach this weekend. Julia and Todd are doing a wonderful job, and it was extremely gratifying to see the customer line reaching almost to the door at 4:40pm on a Sunday afternoon. Devotion to quality really does make a difference!

Nice espresso shot using the Verve Sermon blend pulled by Julia. At the French Press the baristas do a very good job pulling great tasting espressos using coffee beans from Verve.
Yes! I was hoping someone posted this. Handlebar is doing some amazing stuff. It's packed on the weekends with tons of riders and they are pulling magnificent shots.

Based on this thread, I recently went to both the French Press and Handlebar (walking distance to each other), and was impressed by both. Had 2 shots of Verve at FP, and the single origin Costa Rican shot was fantastic, best CR espresso I've had in a long while, and the Gibraltar Blend at Handlebar was great. Picked up a bag for home, and they said they couldn't keep them on the shelves. Great 2 coffee shops in SB.
I also went to Kreutzberg (sp?) in San Luis Obispo and had another great shot of Verve.

If you're down there again, make sure to stop in at Atascadero at Bru Coffeehouse. They are a stumptown account, assuming that you're traveling from the Bay Area, it's a great place to stop and grab a shot.
