I would wonder if the home roasting exchange idea could be done via priority mail as well. Maybe not the first time, but later if you all like it (I don't roast). We used to do them when I made a lot of soaps and we called them swaps.

People would package up x ounces of product y times and send them in with a real sort deadline along with a return label or cash via priority mail. The host(ess) repackaged and dropped it at the post office. It would take a lot of people promising to roast, package and ship on the same day  but you could do it with a theme of sorts, and then people could enjoy it.

Just a future idea.

Russel and everyone else who was there, thanks for all the hard work and for showing up. I had a great time some great coffee and met some great people which was the best part of the event for me.

I'd be all in favor of a home-roasting gathering. I could use some input on the stuff I roast and drink in solitude. Be great if we could combine it with a cupping class type of thing - have some basic cupping instruction, a really good coffee for comparison, and then cup against various home roasts.
