The trainer designs, organizes and conducts trainings for internal staff, wholesale/retail/grocery customers and the general public. The trainer must maintain a strong knowledge of specialty coffee and its preparation. The trainer must have the ability to communicate effectively and professionally, adapt information for both the coffee professional and lay person, and evaluate the effectiveness of trainings.
Responsibilities: Act as an ambassador for the culture and ethos of Temple Coffee. Maintain a strong knowledge of espresso preparation and milk skills, up to date knowledge of pertinent brew methods, and a thorough knowledge of current and upcoming coffee offerings. Design, organize, and conduct trainings, including ordering necessary supplies, and coordinating and confirming participant attendance via email. Conduct demos/tastings at grocery and wholesale customer’s locations. Function as a barista in the cafes and at special events, as needed. Conduct quality assurance at the in-house and wholesale level. Report on in-house and wholesale account training developments. Participate in developing in-house, wholesale and general public training materials including, but not limited to: manuals, informational handouts, standards of performance and certification exams. Evaluation of training needs, delivery, and content. Communicate with Temple café managers regarding training needs and effectiveness. Maintain the training bar cleanliness, organization and inventory.
