The Bitter+Sweet coffee desert bar opened 12 days ago in Cupertino. And they serve Sightglass coffee!

Sightglass Owl’s Howl espresso pulled at the Sweet+Bitter coffee house. Volume of about 1.5oz, very nice fruit flavor with great acidity. Very nice!

Cappuccino made with Sightglass Owl’s Howl espresso and steamed Clover milk. Very nice sweet steamed milk. Well done!

Sightglass Ethiopian washed Yirgacheffe Moplaco coffee brewed on the V60. Sweet, fruity, complex, clean. Just such a nice coffee. I bought a bag to take home.

One more cappuccino for my wife. She had it with chocolate cake from Satura (good cake!). I also tried a sample of the vanilla Humphry Slocombe ice cream (also from San Francisco). Best vanilla ice cream I’ve tasted in years!

Gary,
I headed over there this morning. It wasn't bad. My shot of espresso left something to be desired though, especially because I pull Owl's Howl on a regular basis. The shot I had was pretty acidic and long. I usually find more savory and chocolatey notes out of the coffee than I got from Bitter+Sweet. The Cappuccino I had this morning was lovely though. I do love the fact that they use the not neutral cups, which are an absolute joy to drink from and pour into.

I didn't have a chance to get a brewed coffee, but like you said they are using v60 cones with hario decanters.

Thanks for the write up!

Andrew

At Bitter+Sweet they do pull the Sightglass Owl’s Howl espresso a bit longer at about 1.5oz. I had this Owl's Howl espresso this morning and it did taste very nice! Very fruity, complex, nice acidity. Amazing how well Owl's Howl espresso works when pulled longer than a 1oz double ristretto shot.

I visited last week.  Parking is annoying, but the cafe is quiet, nicely decorated, and the barista did a good job and was paying attention to all the right details -- Justin, I believe.

You can park in the garage inside the building; it looks like it's for residents, but it's actually open to the public.
