The new Ritual Snowcone espresso blend is now at Red Berry Coffee Bar. Very fruity with nice acidity. Yum!

Barefoot The Boss! Nice looking shot with berry and some chocolate but low body and too acidic for my taste.

Barefoot El Salvador lot 91. I've had this amazing coffee before at barefoot pulled as an espresso. At RBCB it was brewed on a press pot and it was very nice! I have to go and buy me a bag at Barefoot. RBCB is across from this nice glass dome which is part of San Jose city hall.

If you know to ask, you can buy a bag right at RBCB and save the trek into Santa Clara.  Did this last week with a bag of The Boss since I had finished my over-home-roasted batch of SM New Classic Espresso (Ashy due to a failure to compensate my profile for a smaller batch on the Behmor).  They weigh it out and bag it up in generic Barefoot bags, at least for the Barefoot beans.  Not sure what bags you'd get if you bought some Ecco or Ritual.

Now I feel the need to stop in and try Snowflake real soon.

Stopped in this morning for Ritual's Snow Cone.  This is one not to miss.

Chris pulled my first shot at 95.4 C which really brought out the Lime and Tangerine with muted chocolate.  Very nice.  Later I got a shot pulled from the 94.1 C group which favored the chocolate with not that much fruit, but I thought it had a nice fruit finish.  This batch was roasted 11/11.  I was so impressed I got 12 oz to take home and insult on my own machine.  I didn't really get any of the cherry that was said to be in there, but that's probably just me.

I also tried RBCB's first single origin espresso, Ecco Caffe Single Origin Espresso Organic Brazil Serra do Boné.  Nice chocolate on this one.

Keep up the good work, RBCB!

RBCB is located on the ground floor of this tall building. At RBCB they currently are offering Ritual sweet tooth Pinona Honduras. The shot was sweet but overall not a very interesting S.O. shot.

At RBCB I ran into the Bellano baristas and met Eddie who used to work at this same coffee house location when it was called Broken Door. Eddie told me that the Broken Door coffee house will reopen in downtown San Jose in a month or so. They ordered this macchiato made with the Ritual sweet tooth espresso.

I also had this Ecco espresso blend shot. Liked the complexity! I had this Ritual coffee to go. Nice pineapple flavor.

Big news from Jeff at RBCB. He told me that on Thursday, that is today, RBCB will get the two top coffees from San Francisco, the Ritual Kenya Kanyoni, and the Ecco Yirgacheffe Dama Co-op.  These coffees rated even higher than two coffees from Intelligentsia according to http://godshot.blogspot.com/.

While at RBCB yesterday I had this Ecco Brazil S.O. espresso. Very nice complexity in the bottom of the cup.

Chris from RBCB, who used to work for Barefoot, told me that Barefoot has a stand at the San Jose Farmers market which is only six blocks from RBCB. Since I was at RBCB on Friday I decided to visit both. Barefoot was serving both hot and cold-brewed coffee. This El Salvador cold-brewed coffee tasted like sweet caramel candy. Nice!
