In March 2005 McCafe' closed. *$ is usually located near other stores so while shopping people visit *$ to grap a latte. This McDonald's was located all by itself and people visit McDonald's to get breakfast, lunch or dinner. I don't think people drive to McDonald's just to have a latte. The cappuccinos at McDonalds are pretty well put together but they don't have a quality Coffeegeek taste to them. Management told me that McDonald's customers don't want strong tasting coffee in their lattes so that must have turned *$ and Peet's customers off.

I'm McShocked - closed, you say!
Actually, seriously, those drinks from your earlier post don't look half bad. The concept did seem halfbaked, though. I mean really, which marketing studies showed that Mickey D's core demographic was hankering for shots of espresso and lattes?? Now if they had a side of Biggie Biscotti's to go with that, well that would be different.
cheers

Hopefully Wendy's doesn't start offering any espresso based drinks. They already found a finger tip in their chili, I'd hate to see what I'd fine in my espresso. :) I had no idea this was there seeing as I live in Mountain View. I can't say I am heart broken over it closing down. But if you're in a need for some McCoffee there is always MacCoffee. :)
According to this article the Mountain View McCafe was the second McDonalds coffee house in the USA. Anyone know how many there are left in the USA? (9?)
