Headed to New Orleans over Thanksgiving. Any coffee geeks out there know of some places I should try when I'm there? Not expecting to find Vivace-quality establishments. Just looking for a place with a local vibe and well-trained baristi who can pull short, tasty shots. Thanks!

I was in New Orleans earlier this year and the best espresso I had by far was at La Divina. They're on St. Peter St. about a block off Jackson Square (and I think they have another shop in the Garden District).
A lot of people looking for espresso don't notice them because they're known and advertised as a gelateria and they don't show up on the lists for coffee shops. The shots I had there were carefully made by a barista who clearly knew what she was doing. I may not remember correctly, but I think they were running a three-group Linea. It was good enough that I returned a couple times.
BTW, their gelato was very, very good. They had a "Scura" chocolate that was made with first-rate dark chocolate and gianduija, and I believe there was also a particularly good bourbon-toffee gelato too - plus many, many others. Definitely worth trying out. Have a great trip!
