As above, are there any good coffee places in Northern NJ? I'm right where Union, Essex and Morris counties meet and I haven't found anything worth the trip yet.

My House is an excellent coffee place. Joking aside, I don't think you will find any good espresso coffee bar in your area, you have to go most likely in an Italian neighborhood, like Italian Imports on Union BLVD, Totowa, they sell coffee machines and roasted coffee and it's also a coffee bar. Towns like Garfield, Paterson Roma Club, in Paterson and Lodi there are a couple of coffee bars in MacHarthur Ave and Harrison Ave.
Another great alternative is to buy an espresso coffee machine and make your own coffee. Mr.T

The espresso at my house is quite good too, in fact I had an excellent shot about 20 minutes ago, but I was asking about places to get a decent shot other than my house. I'll have to look for the place in Paterson next time I go up to Corrado's (every couple months), other than that your recommendations are a bit more of a drive than I was hoping for. Milburn and Union still have a good sized Italian-American community (including my wife's extended family) but I haven't found a decent place for coffee there yet. Plainfield's Italian population (my mother's family originally came to Plainfield and North Plainfield) is long gone. Got anything else?

I learned how to make an irish coffee ice cream during Christmas Holiday, you should try sometimes, it's an absolute ultimate for the Holiday or anytime you want to impress some of your friends. Whatch the video and learn how to make it. www.truveo.com/irish-coffee-ice-cream-recipe/id/3303725665 Mr.T
Did you say you have a Clover??? I've been looking for a Starbucks that has one, but no luck. And you also have Intelli Black Cat? Fantastic! I'm definitely going to drop on by when I'm in the area!
Sorry, just saw your post. I live in Morris County, and I am not aware of any good espresso places. If I'm really desperate from a quick fix, I would usually swing by SmartWorld Coffee since it's in my area. It seems to be a small start-up "franchise" that currently has 2 stores open: Morristown and Deville.
To be honest, I usually make my own coffee drinks at home. Unfortunately, the cost of shipping beans from Vivace in Seattle to NJ isn't really a good deal, especially with the current economic situation we're in. To cut costs, I've been getting my beans at Gimme! whenever I'm in Manhattan. I still prefer Vivace, but Gimme! is good enough for me. Also, Gimme! has been doing free shipping and providing discounts online. I only wish Vivace could do the same.
