Great thread; just stumbled onto it.

Being military I move around alot.  Been in Schertz (San Antonio) for a little over a year now and would love to have a sprodown here at some point.

Cheers to the other Texans out there.

Hello from a roasting NOOB in Dallas.
In the last year or two I've transitioned from Sam's Club whole bean, a Cuisinart burr grinder in a Cuisinart auto drip (fair cup of joe). To a Capresso conical burr grinder and a Saeco/Starbucks Espresso machine and the occasional pour over and french press(big leap in flavors and mouth feel). I've acquired 10lbs of raw green beans have taken the plunge. My first batch was old school cast iron pan on the stove top (burnt to a crisp), the last 4 or 5 batches have been in a Poppery II and have had fair to good results. I have all the parts to set up a Stir Crazy Convection Oven DIY roaster and cant wait to dial in some tasty beans!

welcome to CG!

I gotta ask.  Do you get your lever machines from Chris' Coffee Service,or is Albany a coincidence?

No coincidence.

Some machines come from Chris' Coffee as they are the direct importer. Simonelli's and Victoria Arduinos come from Nuovadistribution. In short, I go through established channels for my machines and either drop ship or have them available at my shop. I'm way too small to work otherwise but I have big dreams!

The My Way Izzo is a different relationship all together as I'll be sole distributor for the 1 group. Chris will handle the multi-group Izzos.

Always an open invitation to visit the biggest little roastery in TX.

John

I just learned that Taylor has moved on from Revival, went to another shop and then moved on from there. Nobody at Revival seems to know where she's working now...at least that's what they told me.
