It is hard to believe that this topic has continued so long. If you are still adding to the list, I am from the Mcallen Texas Area

It wouldn't be a bad idea for a moderator to clean this page up a bit. I doubt people would mind if you were to delete the posts that just said to add them to the list.

Central Texas (Waco Temple area).  Enjoy mailorder from Persnickety Tim's near Waco.

Hello, fellow Texans!

I'm a coffee newbie and new member from Keller, a suburb of Fort Worth. I've wanted an espresso machine for years, but found selecting one very confusing and intimidating. Having recently remodeled our kitchen, I started thinking about it again and found this site. With the help of the reviews, I've ordered a Baratza Virtuoso Preciso and a Gaggia Classic as a package from Whole Latte Love. I'm looking forward to learning how to use my new toys, and finding great places to get beans and to learn what good espresso is supposed to taste like!

Cheers,

From Lubbock here, seeing if anyone else is still around??

Been on the french press train for a long while, just upgraded to a nice espresso machine and grinder and looking for other aficionados out my way.

yeah, there are definitely quite a few Texans here still.  Though, having spent only the last 12 of my 50 years in Texas, I'm not sure if I really qualify as a "texan".  :)

OK... moved here to Houston (Briargrove neighborhood, 2 miles west of Galleria) from Oakland/San Francisco just a few weeks ago and I'm out of beans that I stockpiled because I knew it would take a bit of time to figure out the situation here... But now I've turned to Illy beans from the supermarket. Someone please help!

Are there good roasters in town? Good baristas/shops? There don't seem to be many recent posts in this forum, but I'm glad to see I'm not the only geek in town!

Hey Dan, don't know if anyone got back with you yet; but we do have a variety of sources for great beans here in Houston.  Here are my go-tos:

Amaya Roasters - can be found at Catalina Coffee (Washington Ave.) and Mercantile (Rice Village - Mercantile also sells Intelligentsia beans)

Greenway Coffee - you can buy these at Greenway Coffee (Greenway Plaza) or Revival Market (Heights)

Fusion Beans - sold at Southside Espresso

Java Pura - sold at Central Market

The best shops are Catalina Coffee, Southside Espresso, Revival Market (if possible, have Taylor make your drink) and Mercantile (pretty much the same places that sell the beans, really).

There are others, but I definitely recommend you check these out first.

Agreed. Greenway opened Blacksmith too. There's also Boomtown.

Taylor's doing tulips now!!!  I'm going to Revival for lunch Friday...excited cause its been a while since I've been able to go there.

Btw, I sent Dan a private email.
