I live in Springdale and attend University in Fayetteville. We have a great Cafe in Fayetteville called Baba Boudans. They roast their own. I am new to the espresso and just beginning to take it seriously as far as tasting straight shots. I am planning to buy a home espresso outfit in the near future. I am a long time press fan. Does anyone remember Funky Java in the Lakewood area of North Little Rock? This was probably around 2003. They had phenomenal coffee! The owner really cared. Always checking temperature, brewing fresh batches, etc. He really took my appreciation of coffee to another level. It went out of bussiness. Such a shame. He had a beautiful roaster in there and planned to roast his own but would not start until he got it right.
We have one coffee shop here in Springdale. It is called Pontiac Coffee. It used to be in this old Pontiac dealership which looked really cool but it moved into a small strip-mall type location and shares it's space with a pick up Pizza Joint that operates in the afternoon. The owners are really nice. The Coffee is better than anything else in Springdale but it is nothing to go out of your way for.

I'm a fayetteville coffee geek! There is a fantastic coffee shop that opened up not too long ago called Mama Carmen's. They roast their own beans on premises, and all the baristas are well trained. They have more of a fruity tone to their coffee and espresso.
