Look me up if you'd like to get together...I'm JonR10 at yahoo.com
For good coffee in town, check out Catalina Coffee on Washington near Taft; and Greenway Coffee Co. (Greenway Plaza) inside Greenway 5 (lowest level), and I also like Revival Market at the corner of White Oak and Heights

Thanks for the recommendations, Jon. I had a good espresso at Catalina today -- Sidama Bonko, which is one of the coffees I've been roasting at home lately, too. Also had a very nice, if brief, chat with one of the baristas, but they were busier than I expected for a Sunday afternoon.
Anyway, I'll drop you a line when I get a second. I really appreciate the offer. I've been drinking espresso almost exclusively for about 8 years, but it's only relatively recently that I've started to get serious about it. SCAA was an eye-opener for me, and I 'd like to interact more with people that are passionate about coffee. Revival is just down the street from me, so I'll be sure to check them out soon, too.

Here in Garland, TX... On a mission to find a decent coffee shop to see what a real espresso/latte/cap tastes like. I am about to drop some coin on a home setup and it would be nice to know what I'm aiming for. If there is anyone relatively close that would like to help me find a place or would like to have me over and show me what "real" stuff tastes like, that would be awesome!

I'm not sure about Garland, but you could try the Pearl Cup or Oddfellows in Dallas. Last time I was in Pearl Cup their guest coffee was Counter Culture and I had a tasty cappuccino. Odd fellows had Cuvee on tap. Both shops are in neat neighbourhoods that are fun to walk around. If you find yourself in Fort Worth try Avoca Coffee - they just started up, but the folks there are friendly, and they feature some neat art in their shop.
