Subject: New 3rd Wave shop on the Northside of Chicago

I was driving at Clark and Leland (just north of Wilson) when I eye-spied a black Marzocco FB-80 in a new shop window.  Upon closer inspection, they also have a Clover, a Robur...hmmm, needs more investigating.  So, I parked and stopped in.

The cafe is called Chava, and the owners are obviously geeks.  We chatted for quite awhile, and they made me the best brewed clover that I've hadin Chicago so far - Intelligentsia Guatemala.  They are using Intelli for all of their coffee, and they know what they are doing.

One of the partners was a chef at Nomi, and they have a phenomenal food menu to compliment the coffee - so spend money on food too!

Their soft opening is Thursday, so check it out.  I have no vested interest in publicizing this place, other than it is good to know about good coffee.

Awesome.  Always good to hear of new shops going up, I'll have to try to check it out next time I'm in Chicago.
