I've noticed a trend recently towards increasingly larger coffee cups in takeaway venues, i find people are asking for larger cups that have previously been unpopular. Anybody else noticed this?
I've had numerous people asking for 20oz cups of coffee, a pint of coffee is a crazy amount!

I have to say, I'm from the UK too and I am definitely guilty of wanting large take away coffees. For me, the larger and hotter the coffee is the longer I take to enjoy it - especially on long car journeys since I drive a lot for work.

As a cousin from the other side of the pond I think this likely holds a clue. I'm certain this was what drove our binge with *$s and has lead to 'grande' mountains of milk drinks sitting on our work desks for hours into the day. Something of a nice sense of comforting support during the rough first hours of the day.
After running the cycle once, over 20 some years, I'm finding - for myself - a return to smaller servings and higher appreciation for the short moment of personal time.
