Dont you think the coffeeitalia customer services could have been a little less curt and a bit more understanding? Would an Italian customer complain if they purchased an expensive grinder in Italy and found it had a UK plug fitted - I bet they would!

I can only agree, DO NOT BUY FROM COFFEE ITALIA.
They have no idea of customer service. I purchased a Delonghi bean to cup machine from them and found when it was delivered that the ground coffee was not making it into the correct part of the machine, it remained dry and at the back of the machine and only a small amount made it into the infuser so the coffee was very weak.
I raised this with them the day after delivery. They are difficult to contact by phone and unhelpful when you do get to speak to them. The best I managed was the contact number for Delonghi Customer Services that they provided by email. Delonghi Customer Service immediately understood that there was a problem with the machine from my description but as it was less than a week old suggested that it should be the retailer who replaces the product rather than them repair.
Following producing a video that proved that the coffee was not coffee and writing many emails and attempting many phone calls I was finally told "It will be pointless replacing the machine as it is obvious that it works perfectly well, it is simply that you do not know how to use it properly". I couldnt respond as the phone was put down immediately after this was said.
UPS have collected it and I wait to see whether they will refund the money without further problems.
Rude, unhelpful and not willing to comply with the law of the land in terms of returns and refunds.
