Hi Gus
Yes, the Parisienne we had (small 227g bag, didn't last long) was full of flavour and had just been roasted that afternoon.
They have now sent me a price list and I'm hoping I can organise a forward payment and collection as they normally ask for 9 kilo's to be bought at once. I'm hoping that I'll be able to buy a bag of each type to try out to start with.

Hi,
Little late to this topic, for the best coffee in the country, go with hasbean, james' gourmet coffee co in ross on wye and Twoday coffee roasters in bristol.
all three are exceptional artisan roasters who select the best greens from COE etc.
Steve @ Hasbean and Peter @ james' gourmet have both roasted barista competition winning beans.

I'm new to the world of espresso making at home but I did make a purchase from Hasbean last week. Their website is easy to use with lots of info if you don't know too much about coffee. I used the 'most popular' list on the right hand side of the page to make my coffee selections. I must say i was really impressed with the taste of the Has Bean Premium Espresso Blend.....It has a lovely caramel taste to it.....it smells gorgeous when coming out of the grinder too! The items were really well packed....i received them next day on the 19th March and the printed roast date was 18th March......top service!
Already used the 1Kg they sent so planning another purchase from them this weekend.
Hate to sound like a broken record, but honestly, all of my customers in the shop adore their stuff---the first time I stocked their retail beans yesterday---I already sold half of what I had. (Which reminds me I need to order some.)
Plus they're really intent on educating you about coffee---for example, how super freshly roasted coffee releases more CO2 (I think?) etc. so when you're pulling the shot it looks more foamy/bubbly, etc. and just in general about bean quality, about dosing, tamping and just the proper clean way to make a yummy cup.
In fact some of my regulars have commented that normally they put sugar into their coffees but the blend's so smooth they don't need it anymore!

J Atkinson & Co in Lancaster is an artisan coffee roasters that was established in 1837, we have over 80 different coffees including our blends and about 60/70 single origin (depending on what is available!). We have won awards for our products including North West fine foods winner for one of our coffees. We are very well known around the area and the word is spreading fast. All our coffees are roasted on the premises of the shop on 3 british engineered roasters (whitmee and uno) everyday so all our coffees are as fresh as they can be. visit out website www.thecoffeehopper.com

My old favourite roaster - blendandroast have just re-invented themselves as the coffee bean shop (???)
Anyway, their site's better, and they've got some great coffee's with simple explanations for the newbie coffee enthusiasts.
Not sure I agree with a lot of their descriptions - they sound a bit generic, but I can tell you that their colombian and guatemalan are at least as good as anything else ive tasted.
Not sure about their blends, as Im currently obsessed with single origin shots, but I probably agree with mark prince when he says that blends can be better than the sum of their parts.
