Too Much Coffee is "The European Coffee Resource". In the past they restricted membership to those in Europe, but they've since loosened that requirement:
Who can join? We want to be more "European" than most of the other online groups, so in the past we have restricted our membership to European residents. Whilst the identity and focus of the site will always be European in character, now that we are well established, we are willing to grant membership to people who are not resident in Europe.

Sorry to drag an old topic up - a friend of mine has asked for my input on a new coffee-related forum for the UK. The idea is basically to have something like TMC but not so heavily linked into a roaster, therefore less bias.
If anyone wants any info as to when this will be online then send me a message and i'll keep you posted.

Sorry to be daft, but which roaster is the TMC site associated with?
There are lots of happy customers of Has Bean Steve (me included) on the forums, but I don't believe he has any commercial involvement in the site. I may be wrong.... but guessing from the site guidlines:
"TMC at the current time is strictly non-commercial. Please respect this by not advertising commercial products or services, nor using the site for the promotion of third parties, without the express permission of the TMC Site Administrator or a moderator."

Funny...I have been running Coffeetime in the UK now for about about 18 months. It's non commercial, non sponsored, non funded, apart from my own personal money, everything run on free hosting, free software and not part of any larger IT business....and I'm retired. We are the home of the only totally non profit (at any stage of the process), green coffee buying co-operative in the UK, coffee is at Wholesale price + transportation and packing. Members of this buying co-operative enjoy group purchases of (10 different coffees 2kg each). It's currently open to Europe as well as UK.
We have a Forum, A Wiki (with 100s of articles, not just stubs) and online shared roast logs.
All your friend needs to do is type coffee forum UK into Google and we will be in the top 3 results somewhere....he just needs to search....You never know it may give him some ideas, he may wish to help us with his energy in our desire to create something different and consumer focussed (not retailer) as it's prime objective.
