Subject: Good Paris cafes?

I find myself in Paris for the next 3 weeks and am in desperate need for high quality espresso/coffee. I have been to half a dozen "famous" cafes according to the guidebooks, but they are only famous for the people that used to frequent the cafe. I am looking for quality in the cup and so far, have not found a cafe serious about coffee. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would be very appreciative!

Merci,

Mark

Ten belles, Kooka boora, coutume and blackmarket are all coffee shops where you might find what you're looking for.

parisianbarista,

Thank you! I also went to Cafeotheque/Terroir and was pleased. I may take a custom coffee class from them.

Will do. I checked out sugarplum cake shop that was recommended by a website but they did not distribute the coffee (left as a cone in portafilter) and them tamped at about 5 lbs pressure. Will keep looking
