Chatted with Les and Ottilia at CFM today, they're estimating an opening at Kawa in 3 weeks. A Synesso and 2 Clovers planned.

Sorry John,
I didn't understand your post.
Who are Les and Otilia?  What is Kawa?
CFM=Calgary Farmer's Market?

cheers,
Geoff

They're the owners of Java Jamboree, Kawa Espresso Bar is their new place on 8 St and 14 Ave SW across from the Best Western hotel by Mt Royal Village (west side of street). CFM is indeed the farmers' market.

Noted about Clover- though they do say on their website that they'll continue to service. I don't know if Kawa has purchased them already.

On a happier not, I peered in Kawa yesterday and renovations are going great guns- beautiful floor is laid... and news of a soft opening April 7? I'll keep my ear to the ground!

Howdy all...

Just thought I'd pass on some info to y'all...  DeVille Luxury Coffee's is hoping to open sometime this week (in the location of the old Palette coffeehouse in art central), and I've seen their facility really taking shape over the past 2 weeks.

Also, Kawa is at their final stages and hoping to open soon (on 8th Street SW, as mentioned earlier in this post) - still sporting Malabar Gold as well as 49th Parallel Epic espresso!

Hope all is well!

KB- at my visit there last week, the co-owner of de Ville told me opening was today- I can't make it DT to check but as the rain should end tomorrow THANK GOD I'll traipse that direction to see the progress at both Kawa and there.

It's great to be able to by Black Cat without a drive to Canmore now! (de Ville will be using it)

DeVille was not open today. Sign was up saying they would be open soon. Looks like they're super close to finishing off. Furniture is out, bar is set up. Didn't talk to the fellow that was there, just kept on walking by.

A friend stopped by today and chatted with some of the people setting up at DeVille. The downlow was that they're looking to open early next week with the possibility of some shots being pulled this weekend. Apparently supposed to be quite the set up with the Synesso already in place and grinders and water system ready to go. Can't wait to smell the Black Cat.

I stopped by too- what a beautiful setup and room this is going to be, just inspired! Also that view- for us skyscraper geeks, to watch The Bow construction from the 2nd floor of Art Central will be almost as good as being a crane operator, but with great coffee and what promises to be great food as well.
