Well, it's been quite a while since the local  enthusiasts and baristi gathered for a good social and to show off their skillz (which for the most part was demonstrated by the Baristi)...

I'd like to get the ball rolling, and see who else may be interested in getting together again for another amateur / pro event someplace in or around the city?

I can only hope my abilities serve me well, but here's one of my latest latte's I'm hoping I could pull off if we do the informal "competition" as we did before!

Hope to hear interest from others soon!

Hey, your art is ok but needs work.

you should make the flower the entire width of the cup and you should try to get it symetrical.

Anyhow, that's what the boys at JJ tell me what's needed for great latte art.

Jordan,
I would love it if someone organized a get together somewhere... sometime.  I missed the one in Cochrane.
I was hoping more pros would have chimed in by now... anyone out there want to host? I am a raw amateur and we are still renovating our house... so I can't really offer much...

and one more just to show I have no shame...
this is also a very early attempt... I think it looks like a woman in an abaya (that's what they call the black outfit in Saudi Arabia)

Thanks for the feedback on the art!  I realize it's got room to improve but this probably is one of my best ones, so I was still pretty happy that it resembled a rosetta... And as for the "boys" at JJ, I thought it was mostly the "girls" who cranked out the impressive art there?  Yeah, that's me shamelessly sucking up to the girls.  I too have no shame.    :)

Glad to see there is some interest now!  Who else is in?

Hey there!  Glad you're up for the event!  I'm slowly canvassing some other places for their interest / ability to host, so I'll keep you posted as we work something out.

As to pro's chiming in, I also hope my initial comments didn't offend any of the amateurs!  I'm hoping that other enthusiasts like me are gonna come out too!

I'll keep in touch as we get more interest!

I'll be back in town in mid-May. If there's anything happening, I'll try my best to get out for it! And great art guys. Even those early attempts. I'm sure glad my early attempts weren't being photographed!

Hey Jordan,

I am new to the forum (Today!) but have enjoyed the banter whenever I get the chance... As Joel discussed we would welcome the opportunity to host if no one else wanted to bring all that excitement to thier location!

All we need is about a weeks notice to clear appointments and such, assuming no one minds coming to Fratello that is.

Just let me know!

John.

Hey, I'd definately be interested, I'm sure there's a large contingency of local baristas that would come as well!
