Got some news for anyone and everyone in the GVRD or anywhere near or far away from Vancouver who want to be in town tomorrow, Sunday November 27, between noon and 3pm.
As you may know from reading this forum, you get your chance to hands-on play around with the La Marzocco GS3 home / catering machine at Alistair Durie's cafe, Elysian Coffee and Tea, at 5th and Burrard.
Well, if you show up tomorrow, there's a few suprises.
First, I have a special giveaway gift for the first 10 people from Intelly Coffee. Something you can't get in Canada normally from them.
Second.... I've arranged it so that there's not going to be just one machine to test and fool around with. Nope. There's going to be two La Marzocco GS3s at this event! This is the only time, most likely, until SCAA Charlotte, that more than one GS3 will be availble at the same event! So more for everyone to have some face time with the machine, and really get hands on! Why? Cuz that's how we roll, baybee!
Intelligentsia was extremely kind, and sent me the following coffees, all custom roasted for this event:
- 5 lbs of Black Cat, custom tuned roast to eek out the most out of the GS3 (plus I have to report back to Doug on it_ - 5 lbs of Kid-O, their organic blend for espresso, which was rawkin' last night when Angie Lof from JJ Bean was over here pulling shots. - 2lbs of "Eastern Africa Espresso", a tinker-blend they sent me just to see how it pulls. - Espresso-"tuned" single origin coffees - Peru Cruz del Sur, and Panama Los Alpes, again, special roasted with different curves and tricks just for this event.
So I hope to see you there tomorrow. Email me at mark@coffeegeek.com if you plan to attend!
Mark PS. Baybee specifically written for Andy, Rick, and Greg ;)

Hmmm.... should I skip lunch to be first in the door? I guess I shouldn't be too overly eager, or I'll sound foolish.... well, I guess I'm a little late for that.

Jason - you should just come early and have lunch there (good wraps and sandwiches). Alistair and I will be there about 11 setting up. It would give you a chance to pick our brains about what it's really like to run a shop...

Ouch. Well that's what I get for not frequenting this forum very often. I hope that everyone that did make it enjoyed an opportunity to pull shots on the GS3's.
