Wtf?? I read the article and the owner is being fined for the term caffe? Surely the province has bigger issues then attacking a small business and their choice of a word... Btw as an aside, when i was at this cafe last year the french (from France) barista did a so-so job of pulling my espresso, though the Counter Culture wb i bought was tasty.

They would have to pull many espressi to pay for that.
I heard a story where a Vespa store was opened in Quebec. In the window was a poster from Vespa, Italy. So it was in Italian. He was told to take the poster down. Instead the next day he closed shop to start a successful business in Toronto. What a loss for Quebec.

Actually, I just heard on the radio today that the fine is $4000 for the extra f.
The language police have a $25 million annual budget. Apparently they even told one cafe they needed to put tape over the "on/off" button on their machine since it wasn't French.
It would actually be funny if people and business weren't suffering financially because of these over-zealous morons.
