I just ordered from Social to check it out. If you live in the US it requires $30.00 purchase for free shipping. Looking forward to seeing if i like it.

I'm now spoiled with Social Coffee subscription service.... ;-)
I get fresh beans delivered to my door every two weeks without having to do anything, free shipping and a lower per pound price because of the subscription model, I can't go back to home roasting, the price vs quality and freshness is unbeatable for what I want ;-)
I don't think there is any competition in terms of price, quality and ease of use at least for eastern Canadian customers, but I could be wrong. ( I order People's Daily and the lower priced SO espresso)
Communication with the staff is easy and they are very accommodating when I needed some adjustements Pascal

Do you know on which day(s) they roast? In other words, when would be the best time to order from Social to get the freshest coffee possible? I just looked at their website and their selection looks really interesting. Especially since I've been enjoying Ethiopian naturals lately.

They seem to roast quite often. I usually get the beans on the third day after roast, but if you order, mention in the comments that you want the freshest batch and that you don't mind waiting a day or two to make sure you coffee is shipped right after roast. Like I said they are very accommodating...
Sorry I buy mostly espresso blends (People's Daily) but I'm also alternating one bag between the SO espresso. Have not been disappointed by any so far.

I had not seen Socials site for some time. I looked Friday and within minutes ordered the Farmer's Collective Organic Espresso. It was roasted Monday arrived Tuesday at my door. I requested signing (must be signed at the house door) which was done. Now that's fast and easy. Now looking at the site in more detail I see it was upgraded on 19 July.
Please keep in mind that this is a bit darker than 'espresso' beans found here. I find most blends here are a bit too light. (and too tart)
Puchase of $50 or more, free shipping in Canada
I just checked ethicalbean and when checking out it said they dont ship to Canada?
I opened this morning a bag of Burundi Gatare ordered from Social last friday (ordered july 27 but too late for the friday delivery, roasted july 30, received august 1). The aroma when just grinded is amazing with a nice smoky caramel taste in the cup. Looking forward to trying the other blends.
