Jason, I don't worry about the length of the url as long as it answers my question. The above url answers your question... maybe you want to rephrase your question. There appear to be some nice coffeeshops in Hamilton that also roast their own beans. I'm sure that visiting them would be an adventure and you could decide for yourself which ones you prefer.

there are no coffee shops that roast on premises in Hamilton period! Pollution abatement issues rule! There are a few that roast their own, though. If you want someone that roasts on site, that would be Fortinos Grocery chain. They also have a coffee bar. If you take a look at their coffee beans, you will see that are only good enough to be labelled as to country of origin and nothing more.
Pollution abatement? Seriously? Properly designed and installed roasters should present little "pollution". Anyway, I have found some good information on coffee in Hamilton. Thanks, all.

I second the Detour suggestion. They roast their own beans. Their cafe in Dundas is excellent - great coffee, food, servers, vibe. Only thing is they are packed full just about all the time. Lots of space and turnover of customers so the wait is never long. Also, they have one of the best patios I know of.
Depending on where you are coming from in Hamilton, a place in Dundas might actually be closer. Back when I was going to school in Hamilton and living in Westdale, it was much quicker to get into Dundas than east end Hamilton.
I'm in Oakville now and quite often on weekends make the jaunt to Dundas.

Third for Detour. Haven't been there yet but I've ordered a few pounds of their beans. Their appear quite dedicated to the craft and I'd definitely visit if I were in the area. Glad to hear their cafe is doing well.
