I've read a bit about the Behmor and for $300US it seems like a great deal.  I didn't read if it was easy to get in Canada or if the price was reasonable (especially given the current value of the loonie).

So, when someone learns of the Behmor being available in Canada for about $300 Canadian (if it isn't already?) please post here.

Thanks.

P.S. My hope is that the greenbeanery stocks it in time as I can pick it up and save on shipping!

I was just there this weekend and they said it's not cleared yet.  I am also waiting.

Do you mean you were at the greenbeanery and they're working on getting them...if yes, what is not 'cleared'.

Thanks.

Islandbob's response here is pretty much the same as mine.
I contated both the Green Beanery and Tahoe Joe in September regarding Canadian sales of his units.  They both espressed interest regarding stocking and selling at that time.  Joe (Mr. Behm) said to me in an email that it the Canadian Standards Association were taking a long time to test his unit and approve it for sale here with a CSA stamp.  This is what I meant by "cleared".  --> passed approval, government red tape has been cleared.

Follow that link, and read Tahoejoe's response.  He is the actual word to believe.  As to the Beanery, I cannot speak for them.  I can say that when I emailed them in November about wether or not they would be carrying the Behmor, the answer was a resounding Y-E-S.  Now when I ask, it seems like they are getting harrassed or something.  Why has their tune changed and what does this mean?  I haven't a clue.  Does this mean that they have changed their minds?  They haven't said no, either.  I have to remember that I think that the volunteer folks that work there could be not as well informed as the folks who answer the emails.
I am running back to back poppers now....blaming the government and it's red tape...maybe there's a huge difference between UL and CSA tests?  (That's only conjecture on my part)

I purchased my Behmor from Transcend Coffee in Edmonton just before Christmas.
Poul Mark, the owner sold it to me for $350 CAD not including shipping.
They did not have it available on their online store but when I bought he said he had a few units in stock.

is there any CSA stickers on it by chance? just wondering if they stock for canada labelled as such or if they are just the american ones brought into canda.

3 weeks till greenbeanery gets them, i can wait for that! my zach and dani's is acting up and now is a good  time to put it aside.

The Behmor has a ETL sticker with a "US" on the right of the circular ETL logo indicating the Behmor conforms to UL std #1026.
The Rancilio Silvia I purchased in July 2007 from the Greenbeanery has a similar ETL sticker with both the Canadian and US designation on the bottom left and right of the ETL logo.
Hope I'm interpreting the UL / CSA info correctly?
I'm assuming this Behmor is a US model brought into Canada.
After 4 years of air roasting with a Freshroast and then a Freshroast+ I'm really enjoying the Behmor.
