It is uncommon if not exceptionally rare where we find our expectations as consumers have been overwhelmingly exceeded.
While we hear quite a few horror stories, in the interest of giving credit where it has been merited I wanted to pass on a recent experience.
I was looking to broaden my espresso sampling and given all the positive feedback, was *aching* to try 49th's Epic Espresso. I encountered some small challenges in completing my order through their new site, and relayed these, politely, to a general email address.
Needless to say, I was very pleasantly surprised by the prompt and professional response offered by none other than Lindsay Parker (I feel beatified!) herself. They went out of their way to ensure my experience turned out exceptionally. I hope to see them at the Coffee and Tea Expo and look forward to future transactions.
After reading this and the other thread on 49th I decided I'll sign-up and buy some online. The price for a pound was about $15, not bad, then i get to shipping and the lowest option was about $20!!!
Please tell me this is an error (I've purchased from the west coast before and paid like $6-10).
I had the same thing happen to me. I called up 49th and they told me that with the online portion being relatively new, all the kinks had not yet been worked out. They quoted me a lower shipping option via Canada Post (if I remember correctly) for about $12 or so. Still, fairly pricey so this time around, I decided not to buy, but with all the raves I have been hearing about Epic, I'll figure out a way to get some. On a positive note, 49th did research into the issue and got back to me within a few hours so I'm not surprised by the earlier comments on good service.
