Out to Vancouver on business this past week, so I made a quick stop at the Wicked Cafe to pick up some Black Cat on Wednesday morning. To my dismay, they were all sold out. No Kid-O either. Orders come in on Wednesday afternoons, so talk about timing.
I ended up at Elysian on 5th Ave, and picked up a pound of their espresso blend so not all was lost.
Better luck on the Black Cat next trip.

Popularity is going up for BC and Kid O. Brad's going to start having to order more.

He's in Long Beach right now with the rest of this, but I have no doubt he's reading.

Yikes! Sorry about that - you weren't alone this week. You unfortunately picked the first week in many, many months where we had a perfect storm of UPS mistakes. My apologies - email me and I'll make it up to you...

One should never be deprived of Black Cat :-(

Café In. also carries Intelligentsia's Black Cat as well. They have 1 location in Kerrisdale and 1 location in Kitsilano. Very nice atmosphere there! Worth a visit I think.

Kerrisdale location: 5707 Balsam Street, Vancouver BC
Kitsilano location: 3335 W. 4th Ave., Vancouver BC

I bought some Black Cat at the Gourmet Warehouse last weekend --my first intro to these fine beans. I also picked up some really tasty Moja organic decaf espresso beans.

I suspect you're aware of this - but Vancouver is actually in Western Canada...

Just in case.

What's that old saying, all is well that ends well? Thanks Brad for passing on the name of Matt Lee, your eastern Canadian rep. Matt made arrangements to personally stop by my office in Ottawa yesterday (while on a business trip) to deliver a pound of Black Cat that was roasted on Monday. You are hard pressed to get it much fresher than that! He also threw in a half pound bonus of a Bolivian organic.  For anyone that is interested, Matt will drop ship orders of 5 lbs or more of Intelligensia beans direct to your door with shipping costs included at $16 lb. For those interested in contacting Matt, send me a note and I'll forward his e-mail address.
