AUD$32,000 = US$29,xxx for a machine? Even if it included all freight and import duties that is a shed load of $ on a machine - even if it was Slayer #1

"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."
George Santayana (1863 - 1952), The Life of Reason, Volume 1, 1905
"Some people make headlines while others make history."
Philip Elmer-DeWitt, in Time Magazine
It's all been done before ... but with less publicity. If it stops being profitable, it will quietly disappear. There were people doing this long before Coffeekid (much less Coffeegeek) was a glint in Mark's eye. In Australia, the "Third Wave" should probably be the "Tenth or maybe Eleventh Wave", because flash machines, gun baristas and Specialty coffees were all happening back in the early 1970's.
Not to mention that Syphon Bars and individual plantation coffees were a big deal in Japan back in 1975, well before most of the current crop of "Third Wavers" were born.

I was fortunate enough to get into St. Ali recently... whatever they are doing, they should keep on doing it... 'cause they're doing a damn good job IMO!
