Does anyone want a full time barista position at First Pour (Veneziano's espresso bar)....FB80, Robur, plus heaps of other grinders (Mahlkonig, Mazzers, Compak) and 5 blends, unlimited single origins, sample roasting, cuppings.

Plenty of opportunities to learn from some of Victoria's leading baristas or you can pick our 3 roasters' brains to pieces...individually we may know a little bit about coffee...but collectively, we know a fair bit!

I'm still shocked no one has really applied for any of the jobs advertised on CG over the last few months. It seems everyone is happy in their current jobs, Jerry!

I guess I will put my bid in as well except I am looking for a different field.  I needs sales and service personal @ www.lewisrvcenter.com  It is like no one wants to work anymore.  I finally just settled for someone the other day and hired them.  On the first day they where going to start they called in sick 8-).

I posted four ads in a row on seek to end up with 2 new full-timers and I cant even begin to guess how many applicants applied - maybe 400 plus? But if you take hospitality students out of the equation that narrows the odds considerably, by say... 80 per cent of applicants? (even though the ad stated: "hospitality students need NOT apply" I still got applications from far afield) then remove another 15 to 18 per cent of applicants who did not have relevant recent experience, then subtract those who said they would turn up for an interview, but who just didn't even bother to show or call on the day, then subtract those who talked the talk but who couldn't walk the walk, leaves you with a total of about 4 serious candidates from 400 applications, then halve that amount again to subtract those who are suitable to your particular work environment, and et viola!

not a bad strike rate all things considered, only took four months to fill two positions!
