Preview: The grind is significantly off? Grind setting varies by beans but if you adjust finer and finer and don't notice changes then its prob time.  Another way to tell is to just set the grinder up at about 1...

Preview: Just make sure when you do upgrade, that it's the grinder first. Even for your current setup, the infinity grinder is a stretch. Maybe get a hand grinder like the LIDO 2? It costs 175$ but thats peanuts...

Preview: Was there resistance across the p-stat when it stopped heating? I don't know about the Mac, but opening the steam or water valve should change the pressure differential in the boiler and kick on the heat...

Preview: Mark the halves of the motor for reassembly, carefully separate, use small gear puller to remove bearing from shaft, use long socket to reinstall, being careful not to damage the metal shield.
